Sometimes shortly after birth eye color varies from light to dark - it sometimes occurs in Caucasians, and is associated with the accumulation of melanin in the iris. Older people sometimes pale eyes, which is associated with a certain loss of transparency of the mesodermal layer. Also eye color can be changed in connection with certain diseases.
